Signature Theatre’s doubleheader of Edward Albee’s ”Homelife” and ”The Zoo Story” also stars Emmy nominee Paul Sparks.
Rehearsals have begun for Signature Theatre's upcoming production of Edward Albee's At Home at the Zoo: Homelife & The Zoo Story. This new production, directed by Drama Desk Award winner Lila Neugebauer (Everybody), honors Legacy Playwright Edward Albee, who was in residence at Signature during the 1993-94 season and returned to the company for four more productions. At Home at the Zoo: Homelife & The Zoo Story is set to run January 30-March 11, with opening night on February 21, at the Pershing Square Signature Center.
The cast includes two-time Tony Award winner Katie Finneran (Noises Off), Tony Award winner Robert Sean Leonard (The Invention of Love), and Emmy Award nominee Paul Sparks (House of Cards).
In Act 1, Homelife, we meet Peter and his wife, who live a comfortable but vaguely unhappy bourgeois existence; in Act 2, Albee's classic The Zoo Story, Peter is forever altered by an oddly persistent stranger in Central Park. With jolts of brutality and Albee's signature dark humor, this seminal play explores both the love and the cruelty that we inflict on each other every day.
The creative team includes Andrew Lieberman (set design), Kaye Voyce (costume design), Japhy Weideman (lighting design), Bray Poor (sound design), and UnkleDave's Fight House (fight direction).
