Hunter Foster will star in the musical Frankenstein, based on the classic novel by Mary Shelley. The production, to be directed by Bill Fennelly, will begin performances at 37 Arts on October 10, with an official opening set for November 1. Additional casting will be announced at a later date.

The show will feature music by Mark Baron and a book and lyrics by Jeffrey Jackson. It tells the story of a rebel scientist who challenges the laws of nature and morality when he breathes life into his inanimate creature.

Foster, who will play Victor Frankenstein, was nominated for a Tony Award for his role in Little Shop of Horrors, and has starred on Broadway in Urinetown and The Producers. He is the brother of Sutton Foster, who coincidentally is starring in Young Frankenstein on Broadway.
