Robin Tunney and Taylor Richardson also star in the MCC Theater production.
The first production photos have been released from Noah Haidle's Smokefall, starring Zachary Quinto. Anne Kauffman directs the MCC Theater production, which opens February 22 at the Lucille Lortel Theatre and will run through March 20.
In addition to Quinto, Smokefall's company includes Robin Tunney (The Mentalist), Taylor Richardson (Annie), Jon DeVries (The Apple Family Plays), and Brian Hutchison (Man and Boy). The creative team includes Mimi Lien (scenic design), David Weiner (lighting design), Asta Hostetter (costume design), and Lindsay Jones (sound design).
The play is described as follows: "Magical realism collides with manic vaudeville in a family drama unlike any you've ever seen. The Twins swap philosophy while awaiting their birth, Beauty eats dirt and doesn't speak, Father is about to drive away and never return, and a man named Footnote acts as our guide. Whipping from astonishing tenderness to profound humor and back again, this wholly original play uncovers the extraordinary family connections we all stretch and warp across the years but can never quite break."
