EXCLUSIVE: First Look at Simon Russell Beale-Led Tempest Before It Hits Cinemas

The drama is presented by the Royal Shakespeare Company and Intel.

The Royal Shakespeare Company's new production of The Tempest will hit cinemas across the country this March, and in anticipation of the screenings, the organization has provided TheaterMania with a first look.

The production, a collaboration between the RSC and Intel, in association with the Imaginarium Studios, uses cutting-edge motion capture technology for the work's magical elements. Stage legend Simon Russell Beale plays Prospero, with Mark Quartley as the sprite Ariel, wearing a motion capture suit that controls the movements of his digital character. RSC artistic director Gregory Doran helms the work, which tells the story of a Duke banished to an island filled with magical creatures.
