Tony Award winner Elton John has canceled three performances at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas that were scheduled for May 24, May 25, and May 27, according to published reports.
The pop icon was hospitalized in Los Angeles on Wednesday following a serious respiratory infection he developed last weekend. His doctors have advised him not to perform for approximately seven days while he rests and undergoes antibiotic treatment.
John has been one of the top-selling recording artists in the world for over four decades. He won a Tony for his score to Aida and has also composed the scores for the Broadway musicals The Lion King and Lestat.
