Center Theatre Group (CTG) and Deaf West Theatre will partner on a new production of Green Day’s American Idiot, incorporating American Sign Language and spoken English.

Directed by CTG artistic director Snehal Desai, the musical will run at the Mark Taper Forum October 2-November 10. With songs by Green Day and a book by Billie Joe Armstrong and Michael Mayer, American Idiot will have a company (to be announced later) of Deaf and hearing actors, in the tradition of Deaf West’s stagings of Spring Awakening and Big River.

Additional titles for the Center Theatre Group’s Mark Taper Forum season include Larissa FastHorse’s new play Fake It Until You Make It, directed by Michael John Garces (January 29-March 9), and a Hamlet, adapted and directed by Robert O’Hara, that is inspired by the works of Alfred Hitchcock and Salvador Dalí (May 28-July 6).

Further information about each production will be revealed at a later date.
