Complete casting has been announced for the off-Broadway revival of Joe Pintauro's Snow Orchid, coming to the Lion Theatre for a limited four-week engagement from February 3-28, 2015. Presented by the Miranda Theatre Company and directed by Valentina Fratti, the new version of the classic drama has scheduled its official opening for February 8.

Joining the previously announced Angelina Fiordellisi and Tony nominee Robert Cuccioli (Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark) will be Stephen Plunkett (War Horse), David McElwee (The Wayside Motor Inn), and Timothy Hassler (Fiddler on the Roof).

Set in 1964 Brooklyn, Snow Orchid follows Rocco Lazarra (Cuccioli) who returns home to face his family a year after suffering a nervous breakdown. His fiery wife Filumena (Fiordellisi) hasn't left their house since before his departure, and longs for her native Sicily while their two sons — Sebbie (Plunkett), a car mechanic, and Blaise (McElwee), a college dropout — urge her to get out of the house, but with no success.

The creative team features scenic design by Patrick Rizzotti, costume design by Brooke Cohen, lighting design by Travis McHale, original music by Quentin Chiappetta, and hair and wig design by Rob Green and J. Jared Janas.

Snow Orchid was originally produced in New York City by the Circle Repertory Theatre in 1982, starring Peter Boyle, Olympia Dukakis, and Robert LuPone. Pintauro is a recipient of the Guild Hall Lifetime Achievement Award for Literary Arts and the John Steinbeck Literary Award.
