Bob Balaban, Brian Cox, and Jeff Perry will star in L.A. Theatre Works’ presentation of Yasmina Reza’s Tony and Olivier Award-winning comedy, Art, April 15-19. Presented at the Skirball Cultural Center, these five performances will be recorded to air on LATW’s nationally syndicated public radio theater series, The Play’s The Thing. Emmy nominee Peter Levin will direct.
The play is a look at the bonds of male friendship, as three men square off over the merits of a recently purchased painting.
Balaban won a Drama Desk Award for co-creating The Exonerated and was Tony-nominated for his performance in The Inspector General. Cox starred in Art on Broadway, with additional Main Stem credits including Rock ‘N’ Roll and Strange Interlude. Perry received a Drama Desk nomination for his performance in August: Osage County, with additional Broadway credits including The Grapes of Wrath and The Caretaker.
