Suzan-Lori Parks’ historic drama is now in performances at the Public Theater.
Pulitzer Prize winner Suzan-Lori Parks' Father Comes Home From the Wars (Parts 1, 2 & 3), now running at the Public Theater, follows a Southern slave named Hero (Sterling K. Brown) as he strives to earn his freedom during the American Civil War. Jo Bonney directs the three plays (from Parks' nine-part tale), which are presented together.
