American Son will team up with the social justice communications lab the Opportunity Agenda for a series of post-performance conversations.

Community discussion events with artists from the production will take place at the Booth Theatre on November 27 and January 10, with additional pathways for civic engagement to be announced. Additionally, discussion guides will be provided at the theater and online for all audience members.

American Son is described as follows: "A Florida police station in the middle of the night; a mother searching for her missing teenage son. American Son is a gripping tale of two parents caught in our national divide, with their worst fears hanging in the balance." The production stars Kerry Washington, Steven Pasquale, Jeremy Jordan, and Eugene Lee. Kenny Leon directs.

The new play will open on November 4.
