Go behind the scenes at the annual event benefiting the Theatre Development Fund.
Theatre Development Fund honored Disney Theatrical Productions and Thomas Schumacher, its president and producer, last night at its annual gala, held March 14 at Gotham Hall.
The program, hosted by Aladdin Tony winner James Monroe Iglehart, featured a lineup of Disney on Broadway stars which included Adam Jacobs (Aladdin) and Ashley Brown (Mary Poppins).
Jacobs sang a medley of "Proud of Your Boy" (from Aladdin) and "Endless Night" (from The Lion King); Brown sang "A Change in Me" (from Beauty and the Beast), and other numbers. The program also included four of Aladdin's Genies, James Monroe Iglehart (Broadway), Major Attaway (Broadway), Trevor Dion Nicholas (London), and Michael James Scott (Australia), performing "Friend Like Me" together.
The program was directed by Jeff Lee with musical direction by Jim Abbott, who led a five-piece band. The chair for the event was TDF Trustee Betsy Miller.
