Jordan Harrison’s Maple & Vine Added to Playwrights Horizons 2011-2012 Season

Jordan Harrison’s Maple & Vine has been added to Playwrights Horizons‘ 2011-2012 season. Anne Kauffman will direct the production.

The play focuses on two people who have become allergic to their 21st-century lives and how a charismatic man from a community of 1950s re-enactors prompts them to forsake cell phones and sushi for cigarettes and Tupperware parties.

Harrison’s other plays include Doris to Darlene, Futura, Act a Lady, Finn in the Underworld, Amazons and their Men, Kid-Simple , The Museum Play, and Fit for Feet.

As previously announced, the Playwrights Horizons season will also include Itamar Moses’ Completeness, directed by Pam MacKinnon, Kirsten Greenidge’s Milk Like Sugar, directed by Rebecca Taichmam; Gina Gionfriddo’s Rapture, Blister, Burn, directed by Peter DuBois; Leslye Headland’s Assistance, directed by Trip Cullman; and Dan LeFranc’s The Big Meal, directed by Sam Gold.
