Marvell Repertory Theatre has announced the plays that will comprise its inaugural season, to run February 18 – April 3 at the Abingdon Theatre Arts Complex.
The company’s season will begin with a double bill of Nora, Ingmar Bergman’s adaptation of Ibsen’s A Doll’s House; and In the Shadow of the Glen, a dark, comedic one-act by J.M. Synge. A production of Federico Garcia Lorca’s passionate romantic tragedy Blood Wedding will be the company’s second offering, entering the repertory schedule on March 5. Finally, on March 6, a production of S. Ansky’s The Dybbuk, based on the Jewish folktale, in a new translation by Joseph C. Landis, will join the season.
Casting and creative teams for the productions will be announced shortly.
