Tony Award Winner Sydney Chaplin Dies at 82 logo
Sydney Chaplin, who won the Tony Award for his performance in the Broadway musical Bells Are Ringing and who received a Tony nomination for originating the role of Nicky Arnstein in Funny Girl, has died at age 82, according to published reports.

Chaplin, the son of the legendary actor and director Charlie Chaplin, appeared in his father's films Limelight and A Countess From Hong Kong.

Chaplin's other Broadway credits included Subways Are for Sleeping and Goodbye, Charlie. He also appeared in a television version of Wonderful Town opposite Rosalind Russell and the film version of Elmer Rice's The Adding Machine with Milo O'Shea and Phyllis Diller.

He is survived by his wife Margaret and son Stephan.
