PHOTO FLASH: Florence Henderson Visits City Center Encores! Fanny

Stage and screen star Florence Henderson visited the New York City Center Encores! production of Fanny on Friday, February 5. Henderson starred in the title role in the musical when it debuted on Broadway in 1954. The actress also participated in a post-show talkback on Saturday, February 6.

The Encores! production of Fanny was directed by Marc Bruni, choreographed by Lorin Latarro, and featured musical direction by Rob Berman. The musical features a score by Harold Rome and a book by S.N. Behrman and Joshua Logan, based on Marcel Pagnol’s novels, which focus on a young girl who falls in love with a sailor.

The company featured Elena Shaddow (Fanny), George Hearn (Cesar), James Snyder (Marius), Fred Applegate (Panisse), David Patrick Kelly (The Admiral), Priscilla Lopez (Honorine), and Michael McCormick (Escartifique).
