Penny Arcade, Annie Golden, Julie Halston, John Kelly, et al. to Be Featured in HOWL! Festival

Re-Exploding Plastic Inevitable, a one-night concert featuring such artists as Penny Arcade, Mary Birdsong, Annie Golden, and John Kelly, will take place at 8pm on Tuesday, September 15 as part of the HOWL! Festival at 45 Bleecker Street Theater.

In addition, Marc Blitzstein’s 1937 musical The Cradle Will Rock will be presented as part of the Festival at 45 Bleecker, September 21-24. Lisa Brailoff will direct and choreograph the show, which is an allegory of corruption and corporate greed follows the efforts of Larry Foreman to unionize and otherwise combat wicked businessman Mr. Mister.

Other Festival events include Legends of the Lower East Side featuring Joey Arias and Basil Twist (September 16), TWEED’s Pic-up: A Summer Romance starring Julie Halston, Sweetie, Jay Rogers, Bradford Scobie, Steve Hayes, Greg Wallach, and Bree Benton in her TWEED (September 18, 19, 20); Michael W. Small’s Got You, starring Heather Laws (September 25); David Caudle’s The Common Swallow starring Annie Golden and Elizabeth Rich (September 25, 26, and 27); and SOP DOLL, co-written by and co-starring Tony Torn (September 26-27).
