Opera Breve to Present Hansel and Gretel in November

Opera Breve will present a new production of Englebert Humperdinck’s opera Hansel and Gretelbased on the fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm, on November 11 and 13 at 7 p.m.at St. Michael’s Parish House (225 West 99th Street). Rich Affannato will direct the production.

The company will feature countertenor Tyler Wayne Smith as the Witch, along with Anna Petrie (Hansel), Kat Ross (Gretel), Ted Dougherty (Father), Jennifer Grodi (Sandman), Pavithra Rajagopalan (Dew Fairy), and Caroline Tye (Mother).

The musical directors are Gary Norden and Lenora Eve. Costume design is by Kristine Koury.
