Neil Patrick Harris Will Perform as Hedwig at Relaunched Wigstock

The all-day drag event will feature performances by Alex Newell, Justin Vivian Bond, and more.

Neil Patrick Harris announced on Instagram that he will be slipping back into his Tony-winning role of Hedwig (from the 2014 revival of Hedwig and the Angry Inch) for the relaunch of Wigstock, a legendary drag event coming to the Pier 17 Rooftop in New York City's Seaport District on September 1.

The event is produced by Harris and his husband, David Burtka; Bruce Cohen; Jack Turner; and Jason Weinberg. The event will feature Broadway's Alex Newell (Once on This Island), Drew Droege (Bright Colors and Bold Patterns), Justin Vivian Bond, Lady Bunny, and many more.

A portion of proceeds from the event will benefit Gay Men's Health Crisis.
