Megan Hilty, Laura Bell Bundy, Aaron Tveit, and More Set for New York Pops 31st Birthday Gala

The New York Pops will celebrate its 31st birthday with a grand gala evening celebrating the work of composer/lyricist Marc Shaiman and director/writer Scott Wittman, as well as Paul J. Massey Jr., CEO and founding partner of Massey Knakal Realty Services. As previously announced, the black-tie event will take place on April 28 at Carnegie Hall. Following the concert, a black-tie dinner dance will be held at the elegant Mandarin Oriental New York.

The evening's performers will include Megan Hilty, Tony nominee Laura Bell Bundy, John Pizzarelli, Tony nominee Corey Reynolds, and Aaron Tveit, who will be making his Carnegie Hall debut. Previously announced artists include Nikki Blonsky, Tony winner Christian Borle, Tony nominee Kerry Butler, Tony nominee Will Chase, Linda Hart, Capathia Jenkins, Tony winner Jane Krakowski, Ricki Lake, Jenifer Lewis, Tony winner Patti LuPone, Tony winner Andrea Martin, Katharine McPhee, Tony winner Martin Short, and Tony winner Marissa Jaret Winokur. Music direction will be by Steven Reineke.

The celebration will also feature Broadway Inspirational Voices, Ronald McDonald House Rockin' the House Band and Singers, Camp Broadway Kids, and The New York Pops Kids On Stage students. Gala Cochairs include Neil Heilberg, Todd Korren, William C. Montana, and James A. Read. Serving as honorary cochairs for the event are stars Matthew Broderick, Debra Messing, and Sarah Jessica Parker.

Together, Shaiman and Wittman have written the musicals Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me, Catch Me If You Can, and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, as well as songs for the NBC television series Smash, including the Emmy and Grammy Award-nominated "Let Me Be Your Star."
