Laurie Anderson, Lesley Gore, Abigail Washburn, et al. Set for Lincoln Center Out of Doors logo

The lineup of free performances that will be offered for Lincoln Center Out of Doors, running July 27 - August 14, has been announced.

The Festival will open with an appearance by British folk singer Billy Bragg and the premiere of a site specific work Water 2011. Conceived and performed by choreographers Eiki & Koma and featuring music composed and performed by Robert Mirabal, the interdisciplinary piece, running July 27-31, will unfold in the reflecting pool on Hearst Plaza.

Also scheduled to be part of the series is The Ponderosa Stomp: She's Got the Power! (Saturday, July 30, 5pm-10pm). The concert, subtitled "A Girl Group Extravaganza including a Tribute to Ellie Greenwich," will feature performances by Lala Brooks, Lesley Gore, Barbara Harris, Louise Murray, Margaret Ross, Arlene Smith, and Baby Washington, among others. In addition, a symposium, featuring Sheryl Farber, Alison Fensterstock, and Lauren Onkey will precede the event.

The festival will also include Laurie Anderson and Friends (August 10, 7:30pm), which will feature the performer alongside such artists as Todd Reynolds, Sxip Shirey, Adam Matta and Strings. The 28th Annual Roots of American Music Festival will also be part of Lincoln Center Out of Doors, running August 13-14. Among the artists scheduled to appear during the course of this two-day event are Cowboy Jack Clement, Rudy "Tutti" Grayzell, and Abigail Washburn, along with Sonny Burgess & the Legendary Pacers.

Other artists who will be appearing during the course of Lincoln Center Out of Doors will be David Dorfman Dance, Asphalt Orchestra, Mavis Staples, and the Trey McIntyre Project.
