Labyrinth Theater Company Announces Programming for Its Fall Season at the Bank Street Theater
Performers will include Craig "muMs" Grant, Daphne Rubin-Vega, and David Bar Katz.
Award-winning, downtown ensemble Labyrinth Theater Company has announced its fall 2013 season, which will kick off in September. The season will open with a new series of Artist Salons, offering intimate glimpses into the lives and work of Labyrinth's company members.
The fall salons will include appearances by spoken-word actor and playwright Craig "muMs" Grant (September 9 and 10), two-time Tony Award nominee Daphne Rubin-Vega (September 16 and 17), and playwright David Bar Katz (September 23 and 24). Salon engagements, scheduled for the spring, will be announced at a later date.
Later in the season, Eric Bogosian will read and perform selections from his new book, 100, which features one hundred monologues originally performed as part of his six off-Broadway solo shows. Performances of Dominique Morisseau's Sunset Baby will begin on November 6. The play takes a vibrant look at the point where the personal and political collide.
In addition, Labyrinth will present two full festivals of play readings: the 15th Annual Barn Series (winter 2014), the annual festival of brand-new plays, and Pulitzer Fest (spring 2014), a weeklong festival of symposia and readings of Pulitzer Prize-winning plays performed by Labyrinth's company members.
Labyrinth Theater Company was founded in 1992 and is a diverse, award-winning ensemble of artists. Over the past 20 years, Labyrinth has developed hundreds of original works and premiered over 60 new American plays in New York.
