Justin Vivian Bond, John Cameron Mitchell, Rufus Wainwright to Perform in Freedom To Love Now! Benefit

Initial participants have been announced for the benefit, Freedom To Love Now! A Concert for Marriage Equality, to be held at the Beacon Theatre in New York City, Tuesday, October 30.

Among the performers will be Tony nominee Justin Vivian Bond, best known for the role of Kiki (of Kiki and Herb fame); John Cameron Mitchell, who reunites with his Hedwig and the Angry Inch collaborator Stephen Trask; and singer/songwriter Rufus Wainwright, whose new opera, Prima Donna, was recently presented by New York City Opera at the Brooklyn Academy of Music.

Additional confirmed participants include Thomas Bartlett (aka Doveman) — who also serves as Music Director and Curator — fun., The National, Toshi Reagon, and They Might Be Giants.

Proceeds will benefit Freedom To Marry, an organization whose mission is to win marriage nationwide for all Americans.

Tickets go on sale on Saturday, September 8 at 10am.
