Will Chase and Jenn Colella will head the cast of High Fidelity, a new musical comedy based on the best-selling novel by Nick Hornby, at Boston’s Colonial Theatre, September 26-October 22. The show will then move to Broadway on November 20 at a theater still to be announced, with an official opening scheduled for December 7.

The show will be directed by Tony Award winner Walter Bobbie, and feature a score by Tom Kitt and Amanda Green, and a book by David Lindsay-Abaire. It will feature choreography by Christopher Gattelli, set design by Anna Louizos, costume design by Theresa Squire, lighting design by Ken Billington, and sound design by Acme Sound Partners.

The cast will also include Christian Anderson (Dick), Jay Klaitz (Barry), Katy Mixon (Liz), along with Emily Swallow, Jon Patrick Walker, Kristin Wyatt, Justin Brill, Andrew Call, Matt Caplan, Anne Warren, Paul Castree, Rachel Sten, and J.B. Wing.

High Fidelity follows the adventures of Rob (Chase), a record store owner who knows almost everything about pop music but almost nothing about how to keep a girlfriend. The 2000 film version, directed by Stephen Frears, starred John Cusack, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Jack Black, and Joan Cusack.

Chase, who will play Rob, has starred on Broadway in The Full Monty, Aida, Miss Saigon, and Lennon. Colella, who will play Laura, starred on Broadway in Urban Cowboy, Off-Broadway in Slut, and at the Old Globe Theatre in The Times They Are A-Changin’.
