The Broadway production of writer/director David Mamet's The Anarchist, which was previously announced for the Lyceum Theatre, will now be presented at the newly refurbished Golden Theatre. First preview of November 13 and opening date of December 2 remain the same.

As previously reported, the play will star Patti LuPone and Debra Winger. The provocative two-hander concerns two powerful women forced to engage in a cage match of wits.

The newly announced creative team will include Patrizia Von Brandenstein (set and costumes) and Jeff Croiter (lighting).

LuPone has won Tony Awards for her performances in Evita and Gypsy. Among her other Broadway credits are The Robber Bridegroom, Master Class, The Old Neighborhood, Anything Goes, Sweeney Todd, and Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown. She most recently played Broadway in the theatrical concert, An Evening with Patti LuPone and Mandy Patinkin and is currently featured in a cabaret concert at 54 Below.

Winger's previous stage credits include How I Learned to Drive and Ivanov at the American Repertory Theater in Cambridge, Massachusetts and The Exonerated in New York. She is best known for her film work, including her Oscar-nominated performances in An Officer and A Gentleman, Terms of Endearment and Shadowlands.
