Broadway Flea Market & Grand Auction Returns to Shubert Alley
The annual Broadway celebration will take up residency in the brand-new Times Square plaza.
The 28th annual Broadway Flea Market & Grand Auction will take place on Sunday, September 21, in the newly renovated Times Square pedestrian plaza, Shubert Alley, and along West 44th Street in the heart of New York City's Theater District.
The free outdoor market, open from 10am-7pm, will include the yearly Autograph Table and Photo Booth, based on the deck of Junior's Restaurant in Shubert Alley at West 45th Street. Broadway paraphernalia will be sold as well, with opportunities to meet Broadway cast members and bid on exclusive backstage experiences.
"We're excited to confirm the now-perfect footprint for the Broadway Flea Market & Grand Auction," said BC/EFA Executive Director Tom Viola. "Scaffolding is down from the end of West 44th Street at Eighth Avenue, the repaving of Shubert Alley is finished and the stunning transformation of the pedestrian plaza along Broadway at 44th is now complete. It's been a long haul moving from place to place these last couple of years, but it's been worth the wait. The Broadway Flea Market & Grand Auction has now found the ideal home in the center of Broadway and as part of new public spaces that have been so brilliantly transformed into world-class piazzas at the crossroads of the world."
Last year's event raised $631,222 for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, bringing the event's 27-year total to more than $10.3 million.
