FX has ordered an eight-episode limited series about the romantic and creative partnership between theatrical heavyweights Bob Fosse and Gwen Verdon.

Based on Sam Wasson's biography Fosse, the series is written and run by Dear Evan Hansen scribe Steven Levenson, directed by Hamilton's Thomas Kail, and executive-produced by Kail, Levenson, Lin-Manuel Miranda, stars Sam Rockwell and Michelle Williams, and George Stelzner.

Rockwell will take on the role of Fosse, with Williams as Verdon. Actor, dancer, and producer Nicole Fosse, Verdon and Fosse's daughter, serves as co-executive producer. Co-producer Andy Blankenbuehler will serve as choreographer.

Production of the series begins in the fall for a 2019 premiere.
