The cast of the forthcoming national tour of the Tony Award-winning Best Musical Jersey Boys, which will begin at San Francisco’s Curran Theatre on December 1, has been announced.

Erich Bergen will play Bob Gaudio, Michael Ingersoll will play Nick Massi, Christopher Kale Jones will play Frankie Valli, and Deven May will play Tommy DeVito. The cast also includes John Altieri, Miles Aubrey, Erik Bates, Sandra DeNise, Jennifer Evans, Rick Faugno, Eric Gutman, Nathan Klau, Brandon Matthieus, Jackie Seiden, Joseph Siravo, Jarrod Spector, Taylor Sternberg, and Melissa Strom.

The tour will be directed by Tony Award winner Des McAnuff, who helmed the show on Broadway; the creative team once again includes Sergio Trujillo (choreography), Klara Zieglerova (sets), Jess Goldstein (costumes), Howell Binkley (lighting), Steve Canyon Kennedy (sound), Michael Clark (projections), Charles LaPointe (wig and hair design), Steve Orich (orchestrations) and Ron Melrose (music direction, vocal arrangements and incidental music). The show, which tells the story of the pop group The Four Seasons, has music by Gaudio, lyrics by Bob Crewe, and a book by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice. Jersey Boys won five Tony Awards.

Bergen’s credits include regional productions of The Three Musketeers and White Christmas. Ingersoll has appeared in the Chicago production of I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change. Jones was seen in the La Jolla Playhouse production of Zhivago and Off-Broadway in House of Desires. May received the Theater World Award for his performance in Bat Boy: The Musical.

No tour stops are currently set for right after the San Francisco run, but the show is scheduled to play Los Angeles’ Ahmanson Theatre from May 25 through August 5 and will come to Chicago’s LaSalle Bank Theatre in October 2007.
