Charles Busch's noir sendup will open in Los Angeles.
Drew Droege (Bright Colors and Bold Patterns) is set to star in Charles Busch's campy noir classic Die, Mommie, Die! as the second production Celebration Theatre's 2016-17 season. Directed by Ryan Bergmann, performances will run from February 10-March 26 at the Lex Theatre in Los Angeles, with an official opening on February 17.
In Die, Mommie, Die!, Droege stars aging Hollywood star Angela Arden. Die Mommie, Die! was first produced in Los Angeles at the Coast Playhouse in 1999, starring Busch as Angela.
Joining Droege in the cast will be Pat Towne, Julanne Chidi Hill, Gina Torrecilla, Andrew Carter, and Tom DeTrinis. The creative team also includes set design by Pete Hickok, lighting design by Matthew Brian Denman, costume design by Allison Dillard, sound design by Rebecca Kessin, and properties design by Michael O'Hara.
