From Here to Eternity Musical to Premiere in 2012

Producers Tim Rice and Lee Menzies have announced plans to stage a new musical theater version of James Jones’ award-winning novel From Here to Eternity, to debut in London in 2012. The production will be directed by Tamara Harvey.
The production will feature the music and lyrics of Stuart Brayson, with a book by Bill Oakes. Rice will contribute additional lyrics.
The piece takes place on the Hawaiian island of Oahu, in 1941, shortly before and during the Pearl Harbor attack of December 7.
From Here to Eternity has previously been turned into an Oscar-winning 1953 film, starring Burt Lancaster, Deborah Kerr, and Frank Sinatra, as well as a television miniseries.
