It's Time to Dance to This Trailer for The Prom

Broadway is the theme of the brand-new musical, opening tonight at the Longacre Theatre.

The Prom, a brand-new musical comedy with a score by Elf and The Wedding Singer collaborators Matthew Sklar and Chad Beguelin, celebrates its Broadway opening tonight at the Longacre Theatre.

Directed and choreographed by Tony winner Casey Nicholaw, the story follows Emma (Caitlin Kinnunen), a teenage girl whose high school cancels the prom rather than let her attend with her girlfriend. Sensing a chance to correct an injustice, and maybe get some good publicity along the way, a group of fading celebrities (Brooks Ashmanskas, Beth Leavel, Christopher Sieber, and Angie Schworer) takes up the cause, and invades Emma's small Indiana town. But their bumbling attempts at social activism make the situation far worse than they, or Emma, could have ever imagined.

Get a first look at scenes from the production, featuring far better dance moves than you ever saw at your own prom.
