SpongeBob SquarePants to Release Limited Edition 7" Vinyl on Record Store Day

The Broadway musical, based on the hit Nickelodeon cartoon, is running at the Palace Theatre.

SpongeBob SquarePants has announced that it will release a limited edition underwater blue marbled 7" vinyl album on Record Store Day, Saturday, April 21. The album will feature three tracks from the original cast recording: "(Just A) Simple Sponge," by Panic! At the Disco; "No Control," by David Bowie and Brian Eno; and the SpongeBob SquarePants Theme, by Derek Drymon, Mark Harrison, Stephen Hillenburg, and Blaise Smith.

Written by Kyle Jarrow, choreographed by Christopher Gattelli, and based on the popular Nickelodeon cartoon, SpongeBob SquarePants is described as follows: "Stakes are higher than ever before as SpongeBob and all of Bikini Bottom face the total annihilation of their undersea world. Chaos erupts. Lives hang in the balance. And just when all hope seems lost, a most unexpected hero rises up and takes center stage."

The cast of SpongeBob SquarePants features Ethan Slater as SpongeBob SquarePants, Gavin Lee as Squidward Q. Tentacles, Lilli Cooper as Sandy Cheeks, Brian Ray Norris as Eugene Krabs, Danny Skinner as Patrick Star, and Wesley Taylor as Sheldon Plankton.
