Paramour Announces Broadway Cast Album Release Date
The Golden Age musical brings Cirque du Soleil its first original Broadway cast recording.
Cirque du Soleil Paramour, the high-flying troupe's new Broadway musical, has announced plans to release its cast album digitally tomorrow, August 26, via iTunes, Amazon music, Spotify, and Apple Music. Physical copies will be available September 16 via Amazon. The album is produced by Cirque du Soleil and RED, a Sony distribution company, and marks Cirque du Soleil's first-ever original Broadway cast recording.
The company recorded the album on June 29 and 30, laying down tracks for 18 songs from the show, written by Bob & Bill and Andreas Carlsson. Now running at the Lyric Theatre, Paramour blends "the best of Broadway with Cirque du Soleil's signature style." Set in Golden Age Hollywood, the story follows a young poet who is forced to choose between love and art. Under the artistic guidance of Jean-François Bouchard, French director Philippe Decouflé stages and choreographs the production.
Jeremy Kushnier (A.J., the director), Ruby Lewis (Indigo, the starlet), and Ryan Vona (Joey, the composer) lead the cast as the central love triangle. The ensemble also includes Tom Ammirati, Andrew Atherton, Kevin Atherton, Lee Brearley, Yanelis Brooks, Sam Charlton, Martin Charrat, Nate Cooper, Katrina Cunningham, Myriam Deraiche, Kyle Driggs, Jeremias Faganel, Amber Fulljames, Steven Trumon Gray, Tomasz Jadach, Rafal Kaszubowski, Reed Kelly, Denis Kibenko, Joe McAdam, Raven McRae, Sarah Meahl, Amber J.
