Clay Aiken and More Welcome Cirque du Soleil to Broadway as Paramour Opens
Cirque du Soleil's Paramour celebrated its opening night at Broadway's Lyric Theatre on May 25.
Staged by French director Philippe Decouflé, the musical production will blend "the best of Broadway with Cirque du Soleil's signature style." Paramour is set in Golden Age Hollywood, where a young poet is forced to choose between love and art. It is cocreated by Jean-François Bouchard, Decouflé, West Hyler, and Shana Carroll, with songs by Bob & Bill (Guy Dubuc and Marc Lessard) and Andreas Carlsson.
The show features Jeremy Kushnier as A.J., the director; Ruby Lewis as Indigo, the starlet; and Ryan Vona as Joey, the composer. The cast of 38 also includes Tom Ammirati, Andrew Atherton, Kevin Atherton, Lee Brearley, Yanelis Brooks, Sam Charlton, Martin Charrat, Nate Cooper, Katrina Cunningham, Myriam Deraiche, Kyle Driggs, Jeremias Faganel, Amber Fulljames, Steven Trumon Gray, Tomasz Jadach, Rafal Kaszubowski, Reed Kelly, Denis Kibenko, Joe McAdam, Raven McRae, Sarah Meahl, Amber J.
