Ron Holgate, Jonathan Hogan, and Ken Tigar will star in the Merrimack Repertory Theatre‘s production of Heroes, by Gerald Sibleyras, adapted by Tom Stoppard. Carl Forsman will direct the production, which runs November 19-December 13, with an opening on November 22.

This Olivier Award-winning comedy tells the story of three World War I veterans who spend their days talking on the patio of the veteran’s home, yearning for one final adventure. Holgate and Hogan are reprising the roles they played in Keen Company’s Spring 2009 production of the play, also directed by Forsman.

The creative team will include Theresa Squire (costume design), Beowulf Boritt (set design), and Josh Bradford (lighting design).

Holgate won a Tony Award in 1969 for his portrayal of Richard Henry Lee in the Broadway production of 1776 and later reprised the role for the musical’s film version. Hogan was Tony-nominated for his role in As Is and won a Drama Desk Award as part of the ensemble cast of Balm in Gilead. Tigar is a television regular with over 130 television and film credits, and previously appeared in Merrimack’s 2007 Off-Broadway production of Secret Order.
