Gloucester Stage Company has announced that Jeff Zinn has been named as its new managing director, effective immediately. Joining newly appointed Artistic Director Robert Walsh, Jeff Zinn completes a new Gloucester Stage leadership team.
A longtime New England theater professional, Zinn has served as the producing artistic director of Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theater (WHAT) on Cape Cod. Under his leadership, WHAT grew to become a nationally recognized professional theater. While there, Zinn produced more than 150 productions and directed more than 50. He also spearheaded the effort to create a permanent home for WHAT. Following a successful multimillion dollar capital campaign, the Julie Harris Stage opened its doors in 2007.
"The great news of Robert Walsh’s appointment as artistic director coincided with the departure of Jon Wojciechowski, Gloucester Stage’s managing director since October 2014 who has moved on to pursue other creative opportunities," said Gloucester Stage Board of Directors President Robert Boulrice in a statement. "Next came some really excellent news with the appointment of Jeff Zinn as our next managing director. Jeff brings a sterling pedigree and an impressive tool set to Gloucester Stage."
Artistic Director Robert Walsh said, "Jeff is a wonderful director, producer, and collaborator, and has an extraordinary track record for bringing connected, passionate work to the stage. He is a consummate theater artist and manager and I couldn't be more excited to partner with him to continue and grow the work at Gloucester Stage."
