The National New Play Network will partner with Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company to present a benefit reading of the 2011 Smith Prize-winning play In a Daughter's Eyes by A. Zell Williams on Monday, November 14, at 7pm.

The reading will feature Lynnette R. Freeman and Krista Apple in the roles they originated in the play's world premiere at InterAct Theatre Company in Philadelphia.

In a Daughter's Eyes is a new drama inspired by the true story of Mumia Abu-Jamal, an activist and journalists convicted in the death of a Philadelphia police officer whose case still stirs up heated debate. Set in Oakland, CA the play follows two women who come together in search of justice. But, their views on culture, class and race push them apart and into an unsettling world of mistrust and violence.
