RE: Time for Ragtime
Saw "Ragtime" last week, and am still thinking about it and feeling the passionate message deeply. It was done so well, integrating the many characters into a tapestry of events that takes everyone, characters and audience alike, on a emotional, evocative ride that cannot help but transform. The music, the choreography, and the costumes are incredibly rich and lush--this cast makes the audience forget that there is a minimum of stage setting as they take us into their fully-fleshed out world. This is the musical to see this season--you wont regret it. Hats off to the very talented director/choreographer for her rendering of this complex work--she has cut through to the very essence of the time and her cast, through words and music, express the pleasure and pathos of turn-of-the-century NYC and America. Total talent, from start to finish. Dont miss it!
