Drama Desk Award-nominated songwriter Joe Iconis (Smash, Be More Chill) and members of his musical-theater performance "family" will head the cast of Weston Playhouse Theatre Company's production of Pump Boys and Dinettes, running June 30-July 11 under the direction of Weston Founding Director Tim Fort.

Iconis, known for songs including "Broadway, Here I Come" and "Blue Hair", stars alongside Molly Hager (Heathers the Musical), Grace McLean (Brooklynite), Jason 'SweetTooth' Williams (Bloodsong of Love), and Seth Eliser (Rewrite). Like in all productions of the musical, the actors will also serve as instrumentalists, playing keys, sax, acoustic, and bass guitars, accordion, and various kitchen utensils. Iconis, Hager, Williams, and Eliser frequently perform together under the banner title "Joe Iconis & Family."

Conceived, written, and originally performed by John Foley, Mark Hardwick, Debra Monk, Cass Morgan, John Schimmel, and Jim Wann, Pump Boys and Dinettes is a tribute to life on the road, telling the story of four gas station attendants and two waitresses at a small-town dinette in North Carolina. The original production ran 573 performances on Broadway and was nominated for Tony and Drama Desk Awards. It was revived at New York City Center in 2014 as part of the Encores! Off-Center series.
