Jeremy Jordan, Laura Osnes, et al. Set for Frank Wildhorn’s Bonnie & Clyde Musical at Asolo Rep

Laura Osnes and Jeremy Jordan will play the title characters in the musical Bonnie & Clyde, featuring a book by Ivan Menchell, music by Frank Wildhorn, and lyrics by Don Black. Jeff Calhoun will direct and musically stage the production, which will run November 16 – December 19, in the Asolo Rep mainstage-The Mertz Theatre, with a press opening on November 19.

The musical is based on the lives of Depression-era outlaws Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow, whose notorious exploits captured the country’s imagination.

The cast will also feature Melissa van der Schyff as Blanche Barrow, Mimi Bessette as Emma Parker, Kevin Massey as Ted Hinton, Claybourne Elder as Buck Barrow, Wayne Duvall as the Sheriff, Leslie Becker as Cumie Barrow/Governor Ferguson, Zach Rand as Young Clyde, and Kelsey Fowler as Young Bonnie. Ensemble members include Daniel Cooney, Dane Dandridge, Victor Hernandez, Laura Hodos, Heather Kopp, Michael Lanning, Kevin Rose, Casey Shea, and Tim Shew.

Music supervision, arrangements and orchestrations are by John McDaniel, with the creative team also including Tobin Ost (scenic and costume designer), Michael Gilliam (lighting designer), Kevin Kennedy (sound designer), Aaron Rhyne (projection designer), Carol Doran (wig and hair designer), and Stephen Landau (music director).

Osnes originated her role in the world premiere of Bonnie & Clyde at La Jolla Playhouse last fall, and won a San Diego Theater Critics Circle
Award for her performance. She recently starred as Nellie Forbush in the Broadway revival of South Pacific and made her Broadway debut as Sandy in Grease!, having won the role on NBC’s reality competition Grease: You’re The One That I Want. Jordan’s Broadway credits include playing Tony in the revival of West Side Story and Rock of Ages.
