Muslim, Iranian-American performer Zahra Noorbakhsh is set to present her one woman show All Atheists Are Muslim at Stage Werx Theatre, September 1-October 1.
In the piece, Noorbakhsh invites her audiences to laugh at the stereotypes about Islam that have many Americans ducking for cover. This critically-acclaimed romantic comedy uses a story about cross-cultural relationships to discover unexpected common ground among ethnicities, religions, and traditions.
Noorbakhsh’s work in solo performance began in 2007. Under the direction of W. Kamau Bell, Noorbakhsh has penned several shows, including: All Atheists Are Muslim and Hijab & Hammerpants, another bi-cultural comedy about her coming of age.
