In the play, an artist and a mysterious stranger -- strike up a seemingly innocent conversation at a seaside resort. As they exchange increasingly intimate perspectives on art, marriage and women -- in particular, the artist's wife -- undercurrents of sexuality, language and economics explode into a tangled web of intrigue, suspicion and revenge.
The creative team includes Robert Brill (sets), Susan Hilferty (costumes), Japhy Weideman (lighting), and Jill BC DuBoff (sound). Wright's work includes I Am My Own Wife and Quills, as well as the books for the musicals The Little Mermaid and Grey Gardens. He is currently working with Amanda Green on adapting the 1997 documentary Hands on a Hard Body into a stage musical.
