James Braly Launches National Tour of Life in a Marital Institution

James Braly has launched a national tour of his one-man show Life in a Marital Institution (20 Years of Monogamy In One Terrifying Hour) with an engagement at the Wilma Theatre running through July 16. Hal Brooks has directed the production, and Meredith Viera and Amy Rapp are producing.

In the show, seen off-Broadway in 2008, Braly explores the highs and lows and ironies of marriage as he reflects on his own relationship.

Additional engagements on the tour include the Crested Butte Mountain Theatre in Crested Butte, Colorado (July 21-23), Mayne Stage in Chicago, Illinois (August 7), The Music Hall Loft in Portsmouth, New Hampshire (September 9-11), the Acorn Theater in Three Oaks, Michigan (September 23-24), The Long Center for the Performing Arts in Austin, Texas (October 11-16), The ArtsCenter in Carrboro, North Carolina (January 13), The Peace Center for the Performing Arts in Greenville, South Carolina (January 14), the Capitol Theatre in Clearwater, Florida (April 14), and the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts in West Palm Beach, Florida (April 27-28). Additional tour cities will be announced in the near future.

His other theater pieces include The Monthly Nut (How Much Misery Does It Take to Be Happy?) and Asylum.
