The American Theatre of Actors and the Araca Group will rename their off-Broadway house the Chernuchin Theatre after two-time Tony Award winner John Cullum.

The venue will be given Cullum's name on October 16, following a performance of Fracture Theatre Company's production of Urinetown: The Musical. Fittingly, the Chernuchin was the place where Cullum debuted his performance as Cladwell B. Cladwell in the Tony-winning musical before it moved to Broadway.

Cullum’s Broadway career runs the gamut from Camelot to Casa Valentina. He received Tony Awards for his performances in On the Twentieth Century and Shenandoah, and nominations for, among other shows, Urinetown and On a Clear Day You Can See Forever. On television, his credits include Northern Exposure, ER, and Mad Men.
