Lincoln Center Theater has extended Amy Herzog’s 4000 Miles. The production, directed by Daniel Aukin, will now run through July 9 at The Duke on 42nd Street.

In addition, the theater has announced that the production will transfer to the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater, beginning performances on March 15, 2012, in anticipation of an official opening on April 2.

The play focuses on what happens when a 21-year-old man seeks solace from his feisty 91-year-old grandmother after losing his best friend while they were on a cross-country bike trip. The company features Gabriel Ebert, Greta Lee, Mary Louise Wilson and Zoe Winters.

The creative team includes Lauren Helpern (scenic design), Kaye Voyce (costume design), Japhy Weideman (lighting design), and Ryan Rumery (sound design).
