The Roundabout Theatre Company will present Steven Levenson's The Language of Trees as the second production of its Roundabout Underground Series, beginning on October 3. The production, which will open officially on October 29, will be directed by Alex Timbers. Additional information will be released at a later date.

When an American translator is sent into a U.S. war zone in the Middle East, a friendly neighbor volunteers to help out his wife and young son. As events abroad spiral out of control, the lives of all the characters are turned upside down.

The Underground series, which is presented in a 62-seat black box theater at the company's Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center on West 46th Street, debuted last year with Stephen Karam's Speech and Debate.

Timbers is the artistic director of Les Freres Corbusier. His many directing credits include Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson, Gutenberg! The Musical, A Very Merry Unauthorized Children's Scientology Pageant, and Boozy.

All tickets are $20 and can be ordered beginning in August by calling 212-719-1300 or by visiting www.roundabouttheatre.org.
