Amari Cheatom and John Doman will join previously announced star Elizabeth Marvel in the world premiere of Suzan Lori-Parks’ The Book of Grace at the Public Theater, to run March 2-April 4. The production, which will open officially on March 16, will be directed by James Macdonald.
In the play, a young man returns home to South Texas to confront his father, and everyday life erupts into a battle for personal survival.
Parks won a Pulitzer Prize for Topdog/Underdog, and her other works include 365 Days/365 Plays, Fucking A, The America Play, Venus, The Death Of The Last Black Man in the Whole Entire World, and In The Blood.
