Natalie Portman’s Black Swan Film to Open Venice Film Festival

The thriller Black Swan, starring Natalie Portman and directed by Darren Aronofsky, will open the Venice Film Festival on September 1.

Portman plays a young dancer at the New York City Ballet who may or may not be having delusions about a rival dancer. The cast will also include Mila Kunis, Winona Ryder, Barbara Hershey, and Vincent Cassell.

Portman has starred on Broadway in The Diary of Anne Frank and in the Shakespeare in the Park production of The Seagull. Her many upcoming films include Thor, Your Highness, and Hesher.
