Actors Nina Arianda, Jon Michael Hill, Kendrick Jones, and Noah Robbins have been named among the finalists for the Clive Barnes Foundation’s first annual awards, according to The New York Post.

The awards, to be given out in a public ceremony at Lincoln Center’s Walter Reade Theater, will honor one up-and-coming performer in theater and one in dance. Each will receive a $5,000 prize.

The ceremony will be hosted by columnist Michael Riedel and Tony Award winner Cherry Jones and 96-year-old dance legend Frederic Franklin will announce the winners.

Arianda starred in the Classic Stage Company production of Venus in Fur.
Hill received a Tony Award nomination for his work in Superior Donuts and currently co-stars on ABC’s Detroit 1-8-7. Jones is appearing in the Broadway production of The Scottsboro Boys. Robbins appeared last season on Broadway in Brighton Beach Memoirs and starred earlier this year in Secrets of the Trade at Primary Stages.

The dance finalists are Aaron Carr, Ghrai DeVore, Chase Finlay, Hee Seo, and Leann Underwood.

Barnes was the Post‘s theater and dance critic for many years, after a lengthy stint at The New York Times. He passed away in 2008.
