Klea Blackhurst, Donna McKechnie, Coco Peru, Joan Rivers, et al. Set for Laurie Beechman Theatre in November

The Laurie Beechman Theatre has announced its programming for November, which will include the previously announced It Gets Better Broadway Supports The Trevor Project, to be offered on November 1 a 6pm.

The venue’s schedule also includes continued performances from Joan Rivers (November 10, 17 & 30), and Tony Award winner Donna McKechnie will return to the venue with My Musical Comedy Life for one performance only on November 3.

On November 2, the Beechman will be home to The Sarah Palin Election Day Musical Spectacular!, which will feature Dorthy Bishop as Sarah Palin and Gregory Uliasz as Levi Johnston.

The Beechman will continue to be home to the Cabaret Cares series, which will offer a performance to raise funds for Help Is On the Way Today on November 21, and Le Scandal Cabaret will continue to be offered at the venue each Saturday during the month.

Coco Peru will bring Miss Coco’s Glorious Words to the theater for a six-performance run November 5-14. In addition, there will be two performances of Phil Geoffrey Bond’s My Queer Youth, directed by Michele Pawk on November 8 & 15 at 7pm; and Barry Kleinbort’s bi-lingual revue Metropolita(i)n will play November 19-22.

Klea Blackhurst will host the benefit Love Makes the World Go ‘Round: An Evening of Song to Help Our Furry Friends (November 27), which will raise funds for the animal rescue organization Zani’s Furry Friends. The event will be directed by JoAnn Yeoman and feature Celia Berk, Phil Geoffrey Bond, Emily Buttner, Len Cariou, Michael Cone, Brian Gari, Anita Gillette, Janice Hall, Dana Lorge, Marilyn Michaels, Tanya Moberly, Marni Nixon, Craig Pomranz, Julie Reyburn & Sarah Rice.

Also on the Beechman schedule are performances from Peter Lerman (November 1), Abby Smith (November 4), Stearns Matthews (November 6); Kit Benton (November 7), Jason Blaine (November 8), Emily Shoolin (November 9), George Brescia (November 23), Scott Nevins (November 26), Julie Reyburn (November 28), Kyra Selman (November 29), Rick Peets (November 4, 11, & 14), Karen Jacobson (November 16, 18 & 30), and Kevin McMullan (November 20 & 29, December 4).

Rounding out the programming will be Mock Your World: The Songs of Andrew Byrne (November 11), featuring Marya Grandy, Ryan Murray, Chuck Ragsdale and Lisa Rothauser under Amy Rogers’ direction; Manhattan Cabaret Arts’ Something to Sing About!, which will include performances by Deborah Arters, Cora Custodio, Marti Gonzales, Roberta Klein and Karen Schatz; Broadway Bombs (November 16 & 23), which will showcase songs from failed Broadway musicals; and an appearance by Tina Lear on November 13, which will include guest appearances by Tituss Burgess and Jenn Colella.
