Ed Asner and Steve Kazee Join Cast of CMT’s Working Class

Theater veterans Ed Asner and Steve Kazee will be part of the cast of CMT’s first scripted sitcom, Working Class, which is set to debut in January, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The series will focus on a blue-collar single mom, played by Melissa Peterman, who moves her family to a well-to-do suburb. The cast also includes Patrick Fabian, Lachlan Buchahan, Courtney Merritt, and Cameron Castaneda.

Asner is currently starring in the Pasadena Playhouse production of FDR and is best known for his work on the TV series The Mary Tyler Moore Show and Lou Grant.

Kazee’s stage credits include 110 in the Shade and To Be or Not to Be.
